An exhilarating part of Cornwall, the west is an area of stunning landscapes, roughly hewn by the weather and mighty Atlantic.

St Ives is a traditional fishing port with narrow cobbled streets, tantalising restaurants, beautiful beaches and has long been a haven for artists inspired by the quality of light and life.

St Ives Bay has fantastic beaches, from idyllic, sheltered Carbis Bay (1.5 miles), to the golden sands of St Ives (3 miles) and the surfers and rock pools at Godrevy (9 miles).

Beersheba Farm is on St Michael's Way, a public footpath on an ancient pilgrim route that links the north and south coasts. It is marked by one of the areas finest neolithic standing stones, in the farm field next to Beersheba Brea.

Walk, golf, watersport or just relax under the sun around this dramatic coastline. Or explore ancient monuments, beautiful gardens, historic houses and timeless villages. Family fun attractions such as Land's End, Flambards, the Eden Project and Paradise Park are within easy reach.

St Ives is still a
working fishing harbour
